Rachel Anne McAdams was born on November
17, 1978, in London, Ontario, Canada Rachel Anne McAdams was the daughter of
Sandra Kay (Gale), nurse, and Lance Frederick McAdams, a truck driver and
furniture moving company. She is Englishand is Welsh-, Irish--, and Scottish.
Rachel started acting as a teenager. By the age 13 she was a part of
Shakespearean productions at a summer theatre camps. After graduating, Rachel
received a BFA degree from York University in Theater. After her debut in the
episode of Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson (1998), she co-starred in the
Canadian television show Slings and Arrows (2003) A comedy-drama about the
trials and travails of an Shakespearean theater troupe, and won an award called
a Gemini award for her performance in 2003.Her debut role in the role of Regina
George in the hit comedy Mean Girls (2004) instantly catapulted her onto the
short list of Hollywood's most sought-after young actors. Following that film,
she had her own starring role alongside Ryan Gosling in the adaptation of the
Nicholas Sparks bestseller The Notebook (2004) that was a surprising box office
hit and quickly became the main romantic drama for a brand new younger
generation of moviegoers. Following filming, McAdams and Gosling became
intimate and started dating by the middle of 2007. McAdams then showed her
range in the screen with the raunchy comedy Wedding Crashers (2005), the action
thriller Red Eye (2005), as well as the holiday drama The Family Stone
(2005).McAdams then went on to explore the world of independent film with
Married Life (2007), which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and also

alongside Ben Affleck in Terrence Malick's To the Wonder (2012) and with Noomi
Rapace in Brian de Palma's thriller Passion (2012).In 2005, McAdams received
ShoWest's "Supporting Actress of the Year" Award in addition to the
"Breakthrough Actress of the Year" at the Hollywood Film Awards
