Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was created in Miami, Florida on the 30th November 1977. American electro-house musician as well as record producer, D.J. Music executive. He's the 3rd child of Chizuru Kobayashi and Rocky Aoki. His father was a wrestler who also founded the chain of restaurants Benihana. He has two brothers: Kana (sometimes called Grace) and Kevin (owner Doraku Sushi restaurant). His half-sister is Devon Aoki, a model and actress. He was born in Newport Beach, California and graduated from Newport Harbor High School, where he was a member of the varsity badminton team. He then attended UC Santa Barbara, graduating with two B.A. He graduated with two bachelor's degrees: one in feminist studies and the one in Sociology. He was a student at the college who made records on his own and staged underground performances in his Biko area at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. It was a concert venue and the room became known as The Pickle Patch. He was active in student activism , and he founded an Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League section on campus. At the age of 20, he was running his own record label which he named Dim Mak, a reference to his hero from his childhood, Bruce Lee.
