Deborah Rhea Seehorn Bio

Deborah Rhea Seehorn (born May 12, 1972) is an American actress from the United States. She is well-known for her role as attorney Kim Wexler on AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-2018), for which she was presented with the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries, or Television Film. She has also starred in the NBC series Whitney (2011-2013) and ABC's I'm with Her (2003-2004) and TNT's Franklin & Bash (2011-2014). Deborah Rhea Seehorn was conceived in Norfolk, Virginia on May 12, 1972. Her mother was the executive assistant to the United States Navy, while her father was an agent in the Naval Investigative Service; her family moved frequently throughout her youth, living in Washington, D.C. and Arizona, as well as in Japan. Following in the footsteps of her grandfather and father and mother, she was a student of painting, drawing and building from very young. She continued pursuing the visual arts, however, she had a growing passion for acting and was introduced to contemporary theater in college. She earned her degree from George Mason University in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in Studio Art. While at college, Seehorn was looking to be a theater actor, following the encouragement from her acting teacher. She was employed in ancillary positions in the theatre industry in D.C. to try to be noticed. She eventually got important roles in local theater productions, but still needed to take odd jobs to pay the bills as she landed roles in several short instructional films. In the next few years, she became part of more television productions. It was common for her to be compared to Bea Arthur, who she described as "very wry," "sarcastic, and well-educated" women. These roles are usually ended after only one or two seasons. Seehorn was the lead in Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spinoff series. Seehorn is Kim Wexler (a lawyer) and is the love interest of the titular Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman.
